Dinner Party in the Rose Garden
October 2010
Olivia's 17th Birthday Party
The Vintage Laundry Rental worked very hard to make Olivia's 17th birthday party a very special event, indeed. Twenty or so vintage chairs and couple of Louis XV dinning tables were set up under a gauze draped canopy structure. The tables were set with mix/matched vintage china, crystal, and silver and vintage monogrammed napkins and damask tablecloths. Roses cut from the garden were placed in Ironstone pitchers, vintage teapots, and patina-ed silver teapots. Silver trays with candles of varying height were placed at the center and either end of the table making for an over-the-top romantic dinner party in the rose garden.
A cheese tray and a sparkling cider bar were stationed on vintage chests lighted by vintage lamps and chandeliers. The sparkling cider was chilled in a vintage champagne bucket and was served in a jumble of different champagne flutes. The rock path through the rose garden was lit with tapers placed in iron candelabras shielded with hurricane toppers. Vintage styled lanterns with votive candles were hung from the branches of the oak tree above vintage Adirondack chairs.
